Effect of Root Exudates of Allium fistulosum on Growth of Chrysanthemum

Abstract
|
|
|
|
The effect of root exudates of Allium fistulosum (welsh onion) on growth of chrysanthemum through mixplanting and succeeding cropping cultivation was determined. In mixplanting cultivation of Welsh onion and chrysanthemum, growth inhibition of chrysanthemum was increased as Welsh onion density became higher. The inhibitory effect was higher in closed bottom box with drain hole than in open bottom box plot. When chrysanthemum was cultivated in the substrate where Welsh onion was cultivated for 65 days, plant height, stem diameter, fresh weight of root and stem of chrysanthemum gradually decreased, but days to flowering and elongation of lateral shoot was promoted as Welsh onion density per box became higher.
